Description

The Dometic Atwood 36165 OEM RV Furnace Air Flow Sail Switch is an essential component for ensuring the efficient operation of your RV furnace's blower motor. Designed to guarantee safety, this switch detects the presence of airflow, confirming that the blower motor is functioning correctly before initiating the furnace's ignition process to heat the air inside the RV.

When examining the sail switch, it's important to verify that there is continuity through the switch when the paddle is depressed. If replacement becomes necessary, it's crucial to select a sail switch of the exact same size to maintain seamless functionality. Common issues that may arise with sail switches include bent paddles, loose wire connections, or the presence of obstructions that hinder proper contact between the paddle and the switch contact. Therefore, regular inspection and potential replacement of the sail switch are essential maintenance tasks to ensure the reliable operation of your RV furnace.

Features:

  • Flat Blade-Style
  • Reliable & Durable Design
  • Contains Safety Component: Will Not Let Ignition Occur Until it Sees 75% of the Motor’s RPM’s
  • Prevents Ignition of Your Furnace Motor Unless it Detects 75% Motor RPM
  • Includes Bracket & Screws for Installation
  • 2 Year Limited Manufacturer's Warranty

Troubleshooting: To test the sail switch set a multimeter to the continuity setting and attach one lead to each of the switch's terminals. With the switch in the closed position, the multimeter should indicate continuity. Then, blow air into the sail switch and watch the multimeter. The switch should open and break the continuity. If the switch fails to open, it is likely faulty and needs to be replaced.
