Standard forward-curved blowers feature a high number of blower wheel blades that are angled toward the direction of rotation. This design allows them to run quietly while moving large volumes of air in clean-air applications. This makes them best suited for moving clean air against lower static pressures such as in air curtains, heaters, finished goods, and other high-airflow applications.
Direct-drive blowers with drive feature a blower wheel that is mounted directly onto the motor shaft which reduces friction and improves efficiency compared to a belt-drive fan. Direct-drive fans have fewer moving parts and typically require less maintenance than belt-drive fans.
